  • GREEN THUMBS GARDEN CLUB (6 classes)

The summer garden comes alive for your child during this 6 week session in the Hatch School Garden. Children plant and nurture their very own growing space while encountering first-hand the diversity of life that exists in a garden environment. Taking part in garden chores such as composting & worm bin maintenance, kids get to experience the reward of eating freshly harvested produce!

Ages: 6–8 In-coming 1st–3rd graders,
Minimum number students: 8/15 Maximum

Instructor: Kati McHugh

FEE: $85 for 6 week session

Location: Hatch Elementary School Garden

Day: Thursday mornings 9:00- Noon (3 hours /1 day per week)
June 17 – July 22, 2010

  • GARDEN TO GROCERY (6 classes)

Students plant, tend, and harvest their own garden space throughout a 6 week session. Taking part in organic, sustainable garden practices, students sample fresh vegetables & fruits, and participate in the dynamic experience of preparing, marketing, & selling garden grown produce at the Coastside Certified Farmer’s Market in HMB on two summer Saturdays. Scholarship spaces available; contact Instructor after June 10th to obtain scholarship form.

Ages: 8–12 Incoming 4th–7th graders,
Minimum number students: 10/18 Maximum

The HEAL Project is pleased to offer summer garden classes to children again this year starting June 17th. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to participate in Summer Garden adventures through an experienced outdoor educational program based within the Hatch school community.
