The HEAL Project has an amazing paid internship opportunity for high school students!
We are looking for ten students aged 15-18 to participate in a fantastic new program on our San Mateo County School farm that will connect personal health, nutrition, and sustainable food systems to their everyday lives.
In the 10-week program, our TEEN (Teach Environmental Education Now) Leaders will:
Work with THP staff to learn about growing, harvesting, and tasting delicious seasonal produce
Hands-on training for teens that connect personal health, nutrition, and sustainable food systems
Train teen interns to be ambassadors for healthy living at home and in their community
Learn how to design and lead lessons for elementary aged youth
Increase students’ leadership capacity through developing and leading nutrition- based programming for children
You receive $500 stipend upon completion and a weekly CSA share
Teen will have the opportunity to prepare seasonal recipes using foods from the CSA share
12 Week Commitment : February 26th-May 18th
Training: Saturday, February 8th 10am-3pm at farm
Every Tuesday/Wednesday 4-6pm
Every Saturday 10-1pm
Celebration: Saturday, May 18th 12-2pm at farm
*Must provide own transportation to and from Farm, and CCP sites.
