The HEAL Project, extremely concerned with the health and safety of our community during the COVID-19 pandemic, following the guidelines outlined by San Mateo County.
Here’s how we responded to the pandemic:
We created video lessons for teachers and parents to use as distance learning tools, including a series of 26 mini video lessons for the Intensive Garden Program.
We ran distanced day camp at The Farm in spring and summer to engage kids with hands-on learning outdoors.
We connected with San Mateo County teachers to assess their needs and how we might support them.
We piloted a cost-offset Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program with discounts for low-income families and EBT-users.
We increased the amount of produce donated from The Farm to local food distribution organizations to connect fresh, nutritious produce with families experiencing food insecurity.
We welcomed family pods to The Farm for interactive learning tours and u-picks.
