Our Group Volunteering Program offers groups the opportunity to give back to the community while providing a meaningful outdoor team building experience.

We offer a variety of volunteer activities for corporate, non-profit, school or other groups at our farm in El Granada. Your volunteer work directly benefits thousands of Bay Area students who come to The Farm to learn where their food comes from and why it matters.

Read through our list of typical seasonal volunteer activities. Please note: the activities offered to your group may be different than those listed below as farm needs change frequently.

  • Winter - Paint farm signs or prune berries

  • Spring - Plant field crops or seed flats of flowers and veggies

  • Summer - Harvest fruits and veggies or make flower bouquets

  • Fall - Harvest fall storage crops or sow cover crop seed

We can host groups of up to 20 people and will work with you to develop a schedule that fits your group’s needs. We recommend spending 2-3 hours at the farm and corporate volunteer sessions include a brief tour and harvest so you can enjoy the fruits of your labors.  We request a donation from corporate groups of $175 per hour, with a maximum of 3 hours on a given day. This taxable donation goes to help The HEAL Project grow healthy kids from the ground up. Schools, non-profits or government agencies can schedule a volunteer day with no cost.

If you would like to schedule a volunteer day for your team at the San Mateo County School Farm—operated by The HEAL Project, please contact us at development@thehealproject.org.

The HEAL Project’s corporate volunteer program was.... EXCEPTIONAL! Our hosts organized an amazing few hours on the farm for our team: painting, sanding tables, helping with the next harvest, and leading us in a great time along the way. We learned some, got a little dirty, and left feeling we had achieved our community goal. I would recommend this experience to any company looking for team building or service opportunities.”
